My two favourite things combined: Bioshock Big Daddy LEGO

This is a Big Daddy sculpture from Bioshock built out of LEGO, by Finnish LEGO lover Pate-Keetongu.  The sculpture wasn't completely made from LEGO, it is built from pieces of the Lego from the  "Exo-Force flying mecha sets" and the hand drill is a piece from a "Rock Raiders set" from the late 1990's.

"The body is built of pieces from the Lego Exo-Force flying mecha sets, and the arms use ball joints and are movable. For the the builder used a "Big ball" or "Tectonic ball" piece, which is held onto the body with the bricks and tubes around it. The Big Daddy's hand drill is a piece of the classic Rock Raiders sets from the late 1990s."

I would definitely love to buy this as a set and built it however unfortunately it would not meet LEGO's target demographic, but I can always steal his design, ideas and build it myself dream.  That and buy other LEGO sets in the mean time.  The construction process and loads more pictures of the Big Daddy can be found on his blog.

Gears of War 3 Lego Lancer

Unfortunately, I haven't ever made a post about Gears of War 3 because other than the game release, I haven't had much to blog about. The Youtube user PlumBrothers made a replica of one of the guns from Gears of War 3, but with Lego and elastic bands. The unique feature about this replica is that it actually works like it does in the game, however (as you'd expect), it doesn't actually shoot real bullets. As well as being able to shoot the gun, you can reload the gun with several elastic bands at a time by replacing the clip, the gun can also has a motorized chainsaw built in, however I imagine if you tried to use it on someone like in the game it would crumble in your hands and you'd be left there crying.

Skip to 0:40 for a demonstration of the mechanism, 1:30 for the motorized chainsaw, 2:00 for reloading the clips and reloading the gun, 2:40 for shooting and 3:40 for a detailed view of the inside of the gun.

Dead Island in real life

The last post I made was also about a game set in real life, so posting this probably wasn't appropriate however I love zombies, fat ones, ugly ones and cute ones (if I try to be anymore descriptive it will probably be offensive or contain some sort of accidental racism).

ANYWAY, the Youtube user GoingNowhereShow made a "Real Life Dead Island" video showing what Dead Island would look like in real life - however in Dead Island you run around with a coat hanger killing zombies and exploding gas canisters, which I guess is probably realistic.

I also love short zombies, tal- OH, NOW I GET IT, I UNDERSTAND THE IRONIC NAME, "REAL LIFE DEAD ISLAND" - hilarious. Watch the video for a 3 minutes of zombie killing, door opening, coat hanging fun, I'd recommend watching it even if you haven't got Dead Island.
